Rezko, Obama, and the prospects of a naïve president

Waiting in line at the Super Foods before heading to Chicago for the weekend, I noticed the headline spanning the front page of the Saturday Chicago Tribune and felt compelled to buy the paper. What I read revealed the frightening naïvety of Senator Obama. It’s one thing to know how corrupt someone in Chicago/Cook County politics is and to take advantage of it; it’s something wholly different actually to think that the person is respectable and honest when any sensible person who knows him realizes otherwise.

I’m sure that President Bush thought that Rove, Rumsfeld, and Cheney had only the best of intentions, too.
